Getting it right
Corrections and appeals
A fraud desk that cannot admit error is just another loud voice. Here is exactly how to challenge our work — and exactly what we commit to in return.
For readers: spotted an error?
Write to [email protected] with the case file URL and what we got wrong. Confirmed errors are corrected on the page with a dated note — we never silently edit the record.
Flagged by mistake? Our appeals process
If you operate a website we have investigated and believe the verdict is wrong, you are entitled to a review — not a shouting match. Write to [email protected] with:
- The case file URL and the specific findings you dispute.
- Verifiable evidence — corporate registration documents, regulator license numbers, anything checkable against public registers.
- A named contact we can reach with follow-up questions.
Our commitments
An editor who was not the original investigator reviews every substantive appeal. You receive an initial response within five business days. If the evidence supports it, we amend the findings, adjust the score or withdraw the verdict entirely — with a visible, dated correction. If it does not, we tell you why, point by point.
What does not change a verdict
Legal threats without evidence, offers of payment, and reputation campaigns have all been tried. Verdicts move on documents, or they do not move.
